Collection: Chesapeake

From her brackish waters the Chesapeake Bay bestows on us blue crabs and oysters. These treasured emblems are the linchpin of the bay’s ecosystem. Our local watermen are cherished for their arduous work.  I love to paint crabs in any color!  At first glance, oysters are grey, but look again and you see pinks, creams, and oranges in the shells.  Whoever got up the courage to eat that first oyster, must have been very hungry.
